Willy's story
Willy is a calm 7 yr old boy who occasionally gets a feisty spurt and will taunt his foster mom to get her to chase him.  He does not have an interest in toys; but he craves the attention of his person, and is perfectly content to be a couch potato.  He listens well, is house trained, knows "sit", and walks well on a halter/leash. He has been left alone unrestricted in his foster home for up to 4 hours with no separation anxiety or other issues shown.  Although he gets a little bit nervous about it at first, he quickly relaxes and rides well in the car secured in a car seat.  He will bark when someone comes to the door, but other than that has not shown any tendency to bark. Willy has been successfully introduced to other dogs in his foster home following a slow, closely supervised introduction as he wants to be the alpha.  Nonetheless, he would probably be happiest as the only dog with a person who is home more than not and has ample time to give and receive quality companionship.  He's unable to jump up on furniture, but loves to be lifted up onto the couch to sleep next to his foster mom while she's watching TV -- and has actually come to expect it.  If put up on furniture, he'll need to be put down when unsupervised so he doesn't accidentally hurt himself by jumping down.  Although he would love to sleep in foster mom's bed, he sleeps in his own bed on the floor next to her without complaint.  Willy has had many of his teeth removed, but he manages to eat without issue.  Willy is overweight and is now following an appropriate diet and exercising to shed some pounds and regain his boyish figure.  His person must be dedicated to ensuring he maintains a healthy weight for his best quality of life.  Willy is a very confident, intelligent, affectionate, well-behaved, and all-around sweet little boy looking for his happily ever after.
