'THIS PUPPY WILL ONLY BE ADOPTED TO SOMEONE WITH JRT and or SPECIAL NEEDS DOG EXPERIENCE" LOCATED IN TAMPA FL Toby is a 9 month old JRT puppy. He was rescued from a high kill shelter with a history of fearing people. Toby has come a long way from the day he was rescued. Toby had a severe leash fear, which led to bad behavior, He has been in training for 3 months and has become a great dog. He is very shy to new people and may take him as long as a week to warm up and trust someone. Having another dog would be great for Toby. He really seems to enjoy having the company of another dog, and it also has helped with his behavioral issues. He still is a bit leary of the leash, but with the proper techniques he will allow it to be put on his collar. He is very touch sensitive and will not tolerate any tugging, pulling, or dragging. He needs someone with patience to help him overcome his fears. On the bright side, Toby is Extremely intelligent. He learns very quickly. He knows all of his basic commands. He is trained to be off leash in the yard, and he loves to run around with his foster brothers chasing squirrells. He always comes back when called. (But must be supervised because he likes to wander off and explore.) He is housebroken, not destructive (if he has plenty to keep him occupied) He does not like to or need to be locked in a crate. this makes him destructive in his crate. He will go in at night to sleep and is fine throughout the night. He MUST HAVE A FENCED IN YARD! He loves being outside HE CANNOT BE TIED UP! Toby is a special needs dog and will need a special owner. He loves playing with children, and other dogs.
