I am the 4th owner of the Gran Sport and this is the history per the last owner. The very first owner bought the car in Canada and had the automobile for years. I have receipts for upkeep by the initial owner showing mileage into the 70,000 + mile range. The automobile was sold to the 2nd owner, a Fireman in New Jersey, who also kept the vehicle for 8 or 9 years and sold the car due to inadequate health. The third owner was also a Fireman and a pal of the previous owner. He brought the car and retired to Florida as well as developed health concerns which prevented him from keeping the automobile to his requirement and sold the automobile to me. All matching numbers. This is a rare huge block muscle vehicle as only 7602 Gran Sport 400 were made in 1969. It is really tough to discover one or see one at a vehicle show in this condition. It features the original GM Protect-O-Plate metal warranty card as released to the initial owner, Owners Warranty brochure showing owner and date of sale and Owners Manual. Also have the original Buick dealers pamphlet of details on their 1969 lineup of automobiles consisting of requirements of the Gran Sport 350 and Gran Sport 400. Finding a 60s era "A" body manufacturing facility big block with Ram Air and Posi-Traction in this condition, for less that $20,000, is very tough even in this market. The following is a summary of the vehicle. 1. 400 cu. in. engine rated at 340 HP and 440 pounds of torque (without Ram Air ). With Ram Air Buick rated the engine at 367 HP and 466 pounds of torque. 2. 10.25 to 1 Compression ratio 3. Engine runs at about 75 pounds of oil pressure at driving RPMs. 4. Engine does not smoke, burn oil or leakage 5. Does not run hot 6. Turbo 400 Transmission, thought about among the finest heavy task transmission produced by GM 7.
